IPCH highlighted at the Facebook page of AIC

October 1, 2014

Dr. Catherine Stephens, right, senior conservation scientist at IPCH, and Ms. Elena Torok, left, objects conservator at the Yale University Art Gallery (YUAG), discuss their research into the conservation of a geometric mosaic dating from the 5th century a.d. Their collaboration, which also includes Carol Snow, objects conservator at YUAG, and Robin Hodgson, of RH Conservation Engineering, is the highlight of this month’s cover image at the Facebook page of the American Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic works (AIC). Seen here is the geometric mosaic that Ms. Torok and her team conserved and that Dr. Stephens consulted on. The mosaic is currently on display until January 2015 at the Roman in the Provinces: Art on the Periphery exhibit at the Yale University Art Gallery.
