Brand: Nicolet Magna 750 bench and Nicolet Continuum microscope
Software: Omnic
Capabilities: This research grade system has several features. In the bench, there are DTGS and MCT-B detectors; in the microscope there are MCT-A and InGaS detectors. The bench has three beamsplitters, KBr, CaF2, and solid substrate, allowing for analysis from the near- to far- IR. The microscope has mapping capabilities.
Accessory: Diamond cell for microscopic samples; ATR for the bench.
Practical use: FTIR analysis is used to detect functional groups in organic and inorganic molecules. It can be used to analyze and identify paints, polymers, coatings, and other products.
