Katelin Hallchurch

Avangrid Postgraduate Associate, Heritage Science Research Lab

Katelin Hallchurch is a conservation scientist, having completed her Master of Art Conservation (in the research stream) at Queen’s University last fall. Her research there focused on examining the early cracking of oil paints when layered thinly over acrylic mediums. During this period, she also participated in a summer internship at the National Museum of Asian Art (NMAA), primarily working with Py-GC-MS to analyze materials used in 16th-century Chinese lacquer objects. This past year, Katelin interned with the Managing Collections Environments Initiative (MCE) at the Getty Conservation Institute, focusing on the applications of nanoindentation in the cultural heritage field.
