About

The Institute for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage is Yale’s hub for science and culture. It is dedicated to advancing the field of preservation through art, science, and human connection.

Mission

Our mission is to preserve and promote cultural heritage through interdisciplinary research, conservation, and educational opportunity.

We promote collaborative partnerships across Yale’s collections community.

We study and preserve material culture through the methods and lenses of the sciences, arts, humanities, and embodied expertise.

We strengthen the cultural heritage community of practice through partnerships and programs in the Global South and beyond.
