Ana Elizabeth González is Executive Director and Chief Curator of the Museo del Canal Interoceánico de Panamá in Panama City, Panama, where she leads the museum’s efforts to preserve and interpret Panama’s history through collections, exhibitions, and public engagement. Through her work, she has overseen a major renewal of the museum’s permanent galleries, expanding public understanding of migration, racial discrimination, sovereignty, and social justice in Panama’s history, and has strengthened access to cultural heritage through education and outreach programs that have reached more than 30,000 children across the country. Previously, she founded FARO, the museum’s annual artist residency program, and has played a leading role in Panama’s participation at the Venice Biennale, serving as co-curator of the country’s first National Pavilion in 2024 and leading its participation in 2026. Her work focuses on collections-based storytelling and community collaboration, advancing museums as spaces for dialogue, reflection, and cultural stewardship.
