Bai Xue

Associate Research Scientist, Conservation Imaging

Bai Xue (薛白) is an Associate Research Scientist with a joint appointment at the Institute for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage (IPCH) and Yale’s Computer Graphics Group. His research interests include hyperspectral and multispectral imaging, statistical signal processing, inverse rendering, and remote sensing. He earned a B.E. degree in Automation from Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST), China, and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC), where he later served as a Research Associate in the Remote Sensing Signal and Image Processing Lab (RSSIPL). 

At IPCH, Bai supports the Director of Conservation imaging in developing the hyperspectral imaging (HSI) program, collaborating with scientists across IPCH and Yale on HSI data analysis and visualization.
