Iona McCreath is Director of Special Projects at KikoRomeo in Nairobi, Kenya, where she leads initiatives dedicated to celebrating and preserving the legacy of one of East Africa’s pioneering heritage fashion houses. Through her work, she has advanced the documentation and preservation of fashion archives through the 30 Years of KikoRomeo campaign and has supported the continuation and evolution of traditional craft practices through collaborations with artisan networks, weavers, dyers, and makers across Kenya. Previously, she served as Creative Director of KikoRomeo from 2018 to 2026 and has worked across fashion, research, film, and writing, contributing to projects focused on sustainable textile systems, creative production, and African fashion scholarship. Her work focuses on textile heritage and material culture, advancing cultural storytelling, craft knowledge, sustainable design practices, and the documentation of Africa’s fashion history for future generations.
