Mark Aronson is Deputy Director & Chief Conservator of the Yale Center for British Art. He is also a critic at the Yale School of Art. Prior to work at the YCBA, Mark was the Chief Conservator at the Yale University Art Gallery. He is particularly interested in the history of painting techniques and attitudes toward restoration and conservation. He has presented work on the history of conservation at Yale, the treatment of Italian Renaissance painting, Sir Joshua Reynolds, Bartholomew Dandridge, the Anglo-American artist Benjamin West and the Haitian painter Louis Rigaud.
