Silvia Rosi is an Archivist with Dans les Yeux de Chantal Kponton Lawson Association. A Togolese-Italian artist based in Lomé, Togo, her work explores memory, identity, and self-representation through photography, moving images, and text. Drawing inspiration from the tradition of West African studio portraiture, her research combines personal narratives with broader histories of migration, independence, and cultural transformation.
She has contributed to the preservation and reinterpretation of cultural memory through ongoing research into West African visual culture and photographic history and has brought these histories to international audiences through exhibitions and collections at institutions including the Museum of Modern Art, the Brooklyn Museum, LACMA, and the C/O Berlin Foundation. Her work focuses on photography, archives, and visual storytelling, advancing the preservation and reinterpretation of cultural memory across generations.
